Our practice is now seeking to recruit a high-quality infrastructure engineer to be based in Singapore.

In this role, as an experienced engineer, you will provide onsite support for End User computer devices such as servers, laptops/desktops, mobile devices, video conferencing equipment, printers, etc. You will support incidents, service requests, IT onboarding, and offboarding and follow Pragma policies and procedures with the deployment, recovery, and disposal of assets. There will be possible exposure to various projects and new technology to ensure ongoing support for the business.

The role has designated hours (9 am-6 pm), and some out-of-hours working, and weekend support requirements will be required.

 

Requirements

This role requires experience in the areas listed below:

  • Proven work experience as a Technical Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician, or similar role
  • Proven planning, implementation, and migration experience of network-related services.
  • Team player with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Possess the following soft skills and attributes:
  • Ability to justify new initiatives and recommendations to the stakeholder(s)
  • Conceptualise the concept of operation for the new initiatives
  • Familiar with tendering process, defining requirements in tender specification
  • Team player by leading discussion between internal teams (Operations, Security, Contract) and external product principals or system integrators
  • Requires minimal supervision from the supervisor
  • Always keeping up to date on the latest product roadmap and best practices
  • Good written and verbal communication, with the ability to present and communicate effectively with a non-technical audience.
  • Provide inputs to optimise and automate workflows and processes
  • Hands-on experience with Windows/Mac OS, including server environments
  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues
  • Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting/analysis tools, such as Solarwind, Netscout InfiniStream, WireShark, NetFluke, ServOne etc.
  • Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal
  • Additional certification in Microsoft, Linux, Cisco, or similar technologies is a plus

Essential

  • At least five years plus of relevant working experience in IT Desktop support
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally or written, with colleagues and clients
  • Prioritisation of own workload to ensure timely and quality delivery
  • Self-starter, multi-task and capable of working alone or within a team
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • The candidate needs to be Singapore Citizen/PR holder.

 

Responsibilities

  • responding to technical support calls from end-users of computers and software applications
  • setting up and installing new computers, networks, and software
  • setting up user accounts and profiles on the network
  • installing updates, known as patches, to software applications
  • installing and configuring operating systems, anti-virus software, and other applications
  • diagnosing and fixing network problems and hardware or software faults
  • maintaining inventories of hardware and software
  • managing backups of servers in case of data loss
  • keeping a record of issues and faults along with solutions for future reference
  • Translate the technical solution/design into technical specifications and functional requirements.
  • Work with infrastructure architects to rationalise the technical design and ensure the solution works well with Government infrastructure, policies, standards and security requirements.
  • Ensure the operations process and controls are documented and operationalised
  • Explore new solutions and technologies, integrate learning and recommendations for operational efficiency and continuously improve the infrastructure for a better user experience
  • Plan, design and support Technology Refresh and migration activities for the infrastructure services
  • Ensure smooth service delivery and implementation within the business context
  • Translate the organisational/business requirements to technical requirements
  • Produce the required documents for semi-complex (or) complex systems
  • Establish governing principles for network design and deployment
