Pragma Goes Global with New London Office
Pragma, a Singaporean cybersecurity consultancy announced that it has set up an office in London to serve and build the company’s presence in the UK and European region.
Pragma’s London office will serve as the centre of the company’s activities in the UK market and the broader Europe region, supporting Pragma’s growth while maximising the company’s ability to serve both new and existing clients in the UK and Europe.
“We are all very excited about the expansion,” said Manish Chawda, co-founder of Pragma. “Our London office is the first service point for the UK and European region. The strategic decision to expand to the UK is sensible in our business growth strategy. Our expansion will also enable us to better serve our APAC clients who have operations in the UK and Europe.”
The office opening coincides with the official announcement of Pragma’s partnership with Canopius, a global specialty (re)insurer with headquarters in the UK. The expansion to the UK will enable Pragma to provide Incident Response services to Canopius’s clients globally.
The two events coincidentally happened when global cybercrimes cases have increased multifold due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The opening of Pragma Europe came in time to support the growing number of incoming cyber breach cases that the company has received during the past months.
As a fast-growing cybersecurity consultancy, Pragma’s goal is to protect organisations from cyber threats with a pragmatic approach while maintaining a fair price. Although considered a relatively player in the industry, Pragma has secured partnerships with some of the most renowned multinational corporations such as Crawford, Charles Taylor and Delta Insurance since it was founded in 2016.
Pragma Europe will offer the same cybersecurity services as its APAC counterpart while taking into consideration of local regulations and initiatives such as the Cyber Essentials scheme in the UK.
“With our presence in London, Pragma Europe can establish stronger ties with our UK and European clients and in a better position to introduce localised cybersecurity service offerings to financial institutions, insurers and FinTechs throughout the region,” said Stewart McLaren, CEO for Pragma Europe.
Pragma appointed Stewart McLaren to establish Pragma Europe, having spent many years working on Cyber Resilience and Incident Management for global financial institutions, consulting firms and online retailers in UK, Japan and Singapore and has established the head office within the London based Canary Wharf Level 39 Cyber Community with a secondary centre in the West Midlands.
